After finding a “Dear John” letter, William (Kyle Brookes) is finding life difficult. Between spending his time working as a presenter on a local public access television show, and playing the church organ, he is also on the search for his missing wife, unaware if she has left him for another man, or if she has just left for a short time to gather her thoughts. Then one day, William bumps into Tina (Sophia Leanne Kelly) – a rough-around-the-edges young woman with her own problems. An unlikely friendship is soon forged as they both attempt to get their lives back on track. Trouble is never far away though, as a dangerous drug dealer is on Tina’s tail, looking for payment from an unpaid drug debt.
A Light Through Coloured Glass was finally completed in 2022 after a two-and-a-half-year production, mainly due to the Covid lockdown. The winner of over 33 festival awards from around the world, this low-budget gritty British film by director Mike Clarke is chockful of drama, comedy, and memorable scenes.
