A jazz saxophonist is hit by a stray bullet and finds himself in possession of a mysterious stone that leads to a romance with an aspiring actress. A series of strange, dreamlike events take place that change their lives forever.

Also starring Gina Gershon, Vanessa Redgrave, and Mandy Patinkin, with cameos from musicians David Byrne and Lou Reed.
